About Ian
Ian Wright is an author, osteopath and teacher, and the creator of Dynamics of Stillness — a body of work exploring stillness, sensory awareness, meditation and our relationship with the natural world.
His writing and teaching grow directly out of clinical practice. Rather than offering answers, the work offers a way of arriving: quieter, more sensitive, and more at home in the living world.
His Professional Journey
Ian is a practising osteopath who has taught Paediatrics and Cranial Osteopathy internationally for more than twenty-five years.
Teaching across different countries and traditions gradually shaped the way he works: attentive to detail, unhurried, and interested in what becomes possible when a practitioner — or a patient — is genuinely settled.
The Development of Dynamics of Stillness
His experience in osteopathy, alongside a long-standing interest in health and wellbeing, led Ian to develop the Dynamics of Stillness methodology.
The methodology incorporates sensory meditation and practices intended to help people find a quieter, more neutral starting point, reconnect with nature, develop sensory awareness, and explore their own relationship with health and wellbeing.
Teaching & Practice
Ian has taught Dynamics of Stillness courses for many years, working with people who come to the practices from meditation, from healthcare, and from a simple wish to live more attentively.
The teaching stays practical and experiential — less a set of beliefs than a way of noticing.
Books & Writing
Ian's books carry the same intention as his teaching: clear, unhurried writing that invites the reader into direct experience rather than theory.
His book, Dynamics of Stillness, blends holistic traditions with modern science and fluid dynamics in a practical guide to stillness.
